Our Mission

Turning conviction into service

Six ways the vision becomes something a person can actually receive.

The vision is that the divine is present in everyone. The mission is what that obliges us to do about it — day after day, for people who mostly cannot repay it.

The Mission

Six dimensions of the work

Education

Spiritual education

Making spiritual principles usable by ordinary people — without requiring Sanskrit, a philosophy degree, or the assumption that only renunciates need apply.

Seva

Selfless service

Service offered without expecting return, recognition or conversion. The test of it is whether the work continues when nobody is watching.

Welfare

Community welfare

Care, dignity and opportunity for people who have run short of all three: the elderly, the unwell, children with no school, women with nowhere safe to go.

Youth

Youth guidance

Character before achievement. Young people are given steadiness, discipline and a reason to use their strength for somebody else.

Harmony

Interfaith harmony

Mutual respect across traditions, and the shared human values beneath them. Nobody is asked to leave their own faith at the gate.

Community

Spiritual community

Satsangs, gatherings and honest conversation — because practice sustained alone tends not to be sustained for long.

Ongoing Seva

The work running today

Five programmes of direct care at Narendrapur.

Not sure where to give?

A gift to the general fund goes where the need is greatest that week, directed by the people closest to the work.

Give to the general fund

Support the Mission

Give to a particular programme, or to the general fund and let the ashram direct it where the need is greatest.
